How to Transfer Money to a USA Bank Account
bank-expert on November 23, 2009 0
A US resident working abroad or an overseas family member can use banking services and the Internet to transfer money to a bank account in the USA. Many international financial institutions based in the USA offer services, branches and wire transfers for current customers to facilitate deposits to their USA account. In addition, PayPal transfers can facilitate sending money and converting currencies. For international transfers to a US bank, recipient accounts must first be established in the USA.
Transfer Between Bank Accounts Within the Same Financial Institution
Step 1
Log into your online banking account and select the “Transfer” tab or link. Set up your recipient bank account in the USA (note: some institutions such as Citibank require an authorization or transaction code for this function).
Step 2
Select the function to transfer between linked accounts.
Click the “Next” button if an online transaction wizard is activated.
Step 3
Select your source account (your current login account) and if applicable, which type of account (such as checking or savings).
Select the destination or recipient account. If necessary, click the “Next” button.
Step 4
Type in the amount to be transferred. Type in the date for the transfer (if a date is filled in, this is the earliest date that the transfer can be made). Click the “OK” or “Next” button.
Step 5
Confirm the transaction by clicking the “OK” button. A web page listing the confirmation code and transaction details will appear. Consider printing this out for your records or writing down the confirmation code and amount in your ledger. Click “Done” or “OK” to close the transaction and return to your account’s home page.
